Getting Toronto by Air

As a major economical center, Toronto is a city with huge air traffic. Thousands of people pass daily through the various airports of Toronto, mainly by Pearson International Airport, the largest in the region and sited to less than 2 hours from New York and Chicago; 7 hrs from London, Paris and Frankfurt; 13 hrs from Osaka and 16 hrs from Hong Kong.
Toronto is served by 8 airports including to Pearson. All of them are operated by Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) which is regulated by Transport Canada's National Airports System.
American people and other visitors sometimes prefer to go first Buffalo NY and then cross the frontier by car, for the reason that it’s habitually cheaper.
Toronto International Airport
Also called Toronto Pearson International Airport, it is the busiest Canadian airport located 30 km (19 mi) to the west of Toronto’s downtown at Mississauga (30 minutes by car). The airport handles over 30 million passengers from the entire world and 500,000 tones of cargo annually. It is also the main hub of flag carrier Air Canada and others Canadian airlines including WestJet, Air Transat, Air Canada Jazz, Sunwing Airlines and Skyservice.
Pearson Airport has 3 terminals (today just 2 are operative) well-provided with duty-free shops, food courts, emergency centers, baggage storage facilities, lost and found offices, ATMs, currency-exchange stands, info desks and even inter-terminal transportation.
